A condition for the entrance to the consecutive master course of studies statistics is a university degree (Hochschulabschluss) with a quantitative focus, as e.g. in economics, social sciences, industrial engineering, mathematics, including financial and business economics or physics. Beyond that you must have acquired 30 credit points (SP/ECTS) in mathematics (analysis and linear algebra), theory of probability, statistics, econometrics or in comparable training during your undergraduate studies (Erststudiums).
Good knowledge of German and English (both at the level B1) is required. The level B1 for English is equivalent to 5 years of instruction at German schools. Please include a proof of your language proficiency with your application. The level B1 can also be documented through a language test. The application deadline for the winter semester is May, 31.
The applications are processed exclusively by the admission office (Studierendenservice) at HU-Berlin. Futher information about required documents (transcripts etc.) is availiable on the websites of the Studierendenservice. Questions concerning the admissions process should be directed at the Studierendenservice.
Once accepted, applicants can then choose to matriculate at the HU, the FU or the TU. The allocation takes place on the basis of internal distribution and individual desires. For this purpose please indicate at time of application, if you have a preference to matriculate at a certain university. The regulations of the general entrance and permission statute of the HU (Fächerübergreifende Satzung zur Regelung von Zulassung, Studium und Prüfung der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (ZSP-HU), in German) are valid.
