A requirement for entry into the Statistics Master’s Programme is a university degree (Hochschulabschluss) with a quantitative focus. For example, a degree in economics (including financial and business economics), social sciences, industrial engineering, mathematics, or physics. In particular, a minimum of 30 credit points (ECTS) must have been acquired in mathematics (analysis and linear algebra), probability theory, statistics, econometrics or in comparable training during undergraduate studies (Erststudium). This is a compulsory requirement in the admission process. Another compulsory requirement is proficiency in both German and English (both at level B1 or higher). Details are governed by the programme-specific admission rules (German: Fachspezifische Zugangs- und Zulassungsregeln des Master Statistik).
The application phase for Winter Semester 2025/26 starts on 2 May 2025 and ends on 31 May 2025. Please refer to the Academic calendars and deadlines page of the HU.
Applications are processed exclusively by the Admissions Office (Studierendenservice) at HU-Berlin. Further information about the documents required (e.g. transcripts) is available on their website. Questions concerning the admissions process should be directed to the Studierendenservice.
Successful applicants will receive an individualised notification stating to which of the three universities (HU, FU, or TU) they should enrol. After successful enrolment at the assigned university, students are required to apply for registration at the two other participating universities. The relevant information will be made available to the applicants in the course of the application process via the admissions portal. Note that the general entrance and permission statute of the HU (German: Fächerübergreifende Satzung zur Regelung von Zulassung, Studium und Prüfung der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (ZSP-HU)) is the authoritative version, irrespective of which university students are enroled in.
Please note that the information provided on this website is for informational purposes only. Binding information and further details concerning the application procedure for international students can be found on the Studienbüro website.
