Why can the NC be less than 1?

Since there is a grade bonus for candidates with a total of 40 or more credit points in quantitative modules, the grade is calculated as follows:

application grade = 0.6×actual grade – 0.4

if the applicant has 40 or more credit points in quantitative modules and

application grade = 0.6×actual grade

if the applicant has more than 30 credit points in quantitative modules (mandatory) but less than 40 credit points.

Example. A student with 45 credit points in quantitative modules and an actual grade of 1.62 would have a grade of 0.6×1.62 – 0.4 = 0.572 for the application procedure. If she had 35 credit points in quantitative modules only, her grade for the application procedure would be 0.6×1.62 = 0.972.
